Everything is rosy and generally makes sense at City when we beat the Scum.

From the match reports it would appear he is actually a winger not a CF.
When I saw him for the U17's he came on and played as a wide striker. Looked very promising and scored a really good individual goal. He does look every inch the 6'5 but forget that, he wants the ball at his feet to run with it. A bit of Alan Gow about him. Very good pace, quick feet and quick temper (not that Alan had too much of a temper by the way 🙂). Really looking forward to how he develops.

Wilson played on the wing in the FA Youth Cup game I watched and reminded me of Peter Crouch, tall but skinny but also much more skillful than you would imagine. Also like Crouch he wasn't that good in the air. Decent prospect.

Do we really need to play two first year Pro's just to beat them?

I think both King and Borges needed the minutes (for slightly different reasons). This was an opportunity to give them game time, instead of a barren weekend. I'm hoping that was the reason for them playing in an U18s game.

Argyle regularly play several first year pros and our first year pro’s only played 30 mins and 60 mins today, neither of them were on the pitch when we scored the winner so I am not sure they were that instrumental in us winning the game, although they both contributed well whilst they were on the pitch.

I agree, I'd prefer to have Pedro and Jake playing some minutes in a competitive game (as every game against Argyle is) than travelling all the way up to Blackpool and not getting on.
Now, we just need to find a role for Harry..

And schoolboys.

City’s starting XI:
1st year pros - King playing his first game since August and lasted 30 minutes. Borges - subbed after an hour with the score at 1-1.
2nd year scholars - Dean. The other 6 second year scholars out on loan or injured.
1st year scholars - Shanahan, Marroni, Cutler, Richards, Cooper.
under 16’s - Cartwright, Graham.
under 15’s - Cayless
Subs:
1st Year scholars - Ohanaka, Wilson, Oakes.
under 16’s - Bown
under 15’s - Alsop

Argyle started the match with at least 4 second year scholars and finished the match with at least 5. They have a core squad of 17 players and make very few changes from game to game. Contrary to jase 07's post they haven't used any first year pros.
As I already pointed out for the last half hour of the match (which City "won" 1-0) the average age of Argyle’s team was 12 to 18 months older than City’s
