In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
On the subject of Coaches..Trathens,the first luxury coach company in the SW iirc(They had a coffee machine & hostess on board.State of the art !)
I used to travel a London with a few friends for the princely sum of £4 around 1980/81.
The coach firms & British Rail were in a price war which was great for travellers.
BR would run at a similar price to London.
Trathens went bust because of that promotion eventually.

If i had to agree with you we would both be wrong
And while they were having a price war they BR were still pricing railway warrants at almost full price for the Forces Personnel to travel.

Wow..That was a bit naughty.

I can’t recall exactly how much the rail price to London dropped(It was relatively expensive even in those days) but I think it was a third of the usual fare.

I paid £4 return to Plymouth(from Exeter)when I was at college a couple of years before. So London for a fiver was a bargain.

When they went belly-up perhaps the Club should have bought one, painted black over the orange and "Bob's yer uncle" - would have made make the "Black Pasty" look rubbish !
