No, he'd left by then. Chris Hughton was RB in that game.

Just opened up the link. Tx. Unsurprisingly Spurs were big favorites to win but Coventry had the underdog fighting spiriy
Lucky to have seen some great games at the old Wembley.

I *think* Perryman was Brentford manager by then - I'll check.

Yep - appointed Brentford Player/Manager in Feb 1987 (joined from Oxford).
Thanks. Yep, it was the Waddle and Hoddle team ; great attacking but not so good defending. I've seen SP play live somewhere and he was pretty good : neat, tidy, and all action

My impression after the first twenty minutes is that Coventry will pose a far greater threat than Notts.McNulty and the goal scorer are moving well together.

1-0 to Coventry.
Make that 2-0 we are going have to keep a very close watch on McNulty.

Notts are rolling over , heads down right from the off.Could have done with them in the final. As you say , McNulty the threat now.

We were well beaten at Coventry but did not have too much trouble winning at SJP.

As Don Goodman says, Are Coventry that good or are Notts County that bad an making them look good?
