darlo players worth a punt

Sad news that darlington have had to axe all their playing and coaching staff.

Surely they must have at least one player who is worth a punt. Such as Paul Arnison, could be worth at leasy getting a few players on trial to see how they fair.

Re: The Conference thread

I found this on pasoti. Is spot on about Darlingtons situation.

It does appear, unfortunately, that time has run out for another proud old club and the money that the Trust has will be vital in establishing a new club for Darlington. There is absolutely no point in throwing all of the supporters money at an administrator for a short stay of execution when there does not appear to be any viable way of the club continuing.

How sad is is that we have multi-millionaire thugs like Terry and Rooney whilst clubs go out of business. Football is broken and nobody seems to care, apart from us fans who diligently continue to follow our local sides instead of some shiny revenue obsessed corporation easily viewed from the comfort of an armchair.

Well most of their players have got a winners medal so not much chance they would not really fit in.

Re: The Conference thread

Most of their better players have already gone. We signed their Captain Ian Miller a few weeks ago, keeper Sam Russell has gone to Forest Green and forward Liam Hatch and their main central midfielder (who's name escapes me at the minute) signed for Gateshead last week.

Re: The Conference thread

An "interesting" article by ex-Darlo keeper David Preece on the clubs demise.
