Hi,

Myself (a Barnsley fan) and my mate Ollie (a Leicester fan) are currently on a five season mission to watch a match at every ground in the football league. We have been to a total of 82 stadiums over the past four years and will be completing the final 10 this season starting with the real St.James' Park on the 3rd of August against Bristol Rovers (as if you needed reminding!).

To complete the tour we will be walking 180 miles from Sheffield FC (the world’s oldest team) via Notts County (the oldest league team) arriving on the 11th of May at Craven Cottage our final stadium. In doing so, we hope to raise as much money as possible for a national children’s cancer charity called Lennox CCF who provide vital, life-saving support to children and their families experiencing this terrible ordeal.

We would really appreciate it if you could let us know which pubs are worth visiting so we can collect donations and add people to our mailing list. Furthermore, if you could help publicise our efforts by liking/sharing our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/#!/92stadiums.180miles, following us on twitter @92stadiums180mi (bloody character limitation), or even sponsoring us at http://www.justgiving.com/92-180, it would be greatly appreciated! We are currently working with Exeter City FC to allow us to fundraise at the stadium, so if you see us please stop and have a chat!

Avoid the Well House Tavern near the ground, it is has become a pub where alcohol is now secondary to class A.

Cheers Chuckles! Any advice on pubs not rammed with folk taking illegal substances?!

Whetherspoons, Duke of York and the Wells Tavern – jeez! Ah, I see what you’re doing [taps nose]

Hanging up the boots.
Bowling Green just 2 mins up road from ground is always full of City fans and a decent atmosphere. Plus hot barmaids sometimes!

Except the Well House Tavern is right opposite the Cathedral and nowhere near the ground!

Just out of interest, what would be a good pub crawl up from St Davids to the ground? And if you're a cider drinker which ones would you do?

The old firehouse for cider but it's not football friendly. No shirts allowed.

Hants the pub guide on the exeweb page is a bit lacking. Probably worth fleshing it out a bit and as for describing the Duke of York as "good for a bit of banter" well you may as well describe the locomotive as "good for a first date".
