First to tour Sarf Frica undefeated.
As tour skipper, not manager.

'Willie J's Lions' can only be compared to 'Borthwick's England'.

The RFU should've learned from history before appointing Jonno as manager!

Ah !

Good point.

May I venture to suggest though that there can be very few relevant comparisons betwixt Willie J's team and Borf's, the current England team seems totally rudderless whilst the '74 Lions were one of the most focussed teams ever to leave these shores, not to mention talented.

The questions though remain:-

Is it Jonno or the coaches ?

Is it Jonno and the coaches ?

Is it Andrews ( spits ) ?

Is it the week on week pressure of the League ?

Is it simply a dearth of talent and leadership ?

Is it the selction of the biggest, fittest and strongest rather than people that can actually play ?

Sighs.

Think you've answered your own question ********.

Agree with you, the England team does appear rudderless, and although there's no dearth of talent there is a lack of leadership on the field.

The '74 Lions were a group of talented individuals moulded into a great team by Alun Thomas and Sid (forget his name, the Oirish coach), and not forgetting the inspired leadership on the field of Willie John.

Wilko isn't a leader, and neither is Borthwick IMO. We could do with a Jonno, only on the pitch.

Replacing John Wells with someone for whom the term 'quick ball' isn't any oxymoron would be a start.

After that the French don't look that good, not sure what is going on this season, everyone seems to have taken a fook up pill.

Another Six Nations which comprises of a mixture of the very average and the very poor.

I've got to the stage now with England that if we are to play tomorrow as we have been since Johnson took charge, then I actually hope we get stuffed out of sight. At least it may stop Borthwick coming out and telling us how amazing we were.

We have coaches who aren't anywhere near the best at their job in the country, a Head Coach who is conservative and pragmatic to the core, and a Director of Elite Rugby who is possibly, nay definitely, the biggest c*nt in rugby.

With someone like Johnson at the top, you need coaches around him who can challenge him and his way of thinking. Instead we're stuck with damp squibs like Brian Smith, and Leicester old boys like John Wells. It's like an Old Boy's club who are completely oblivious to quite how desperate we have become - it needs shaking up.

Rant over

The French became complacent and sat back second half, but fair play to the Daffs with their spirited response and flair.

Shane Williams recovering a ball on retreat near the half-way line before waltzing through the French defence to score his 50th int try was something special.

Brilliant display of guts and bravery from Ireland (though from both sides must be said) in a pulsating game today.

But a complete lack of anything else which remotely resembled international rugby, plus one of the worst refereeing performances I have seen since they went pro.

Anyone ever seen Johnson and Tisdale in the same room ?
