If Plymouth Argyle dont have / or wont fund the desired amount of funding for policing then who is at fault or is it the fact that the police do not have enough resources / manning - either way it needs sorting for next month.

Any stewarding and/or planning would presumably have been done on police advice, whatever that means, and then there was the policing itself.

My logical mind tells me that this then puts the burden of blame upon the police. Argyle ain't going to criticise them though as come 11th Dec it will be stitch up time and an overtime free for all at Charles Cross, with the subsequent invoice landing on the green and white doormat.

as much as I don't like them, surely the fact it's not the football club's fault-

1- these people turned up at the ground

but more importantly

2- the fact the Police got it completely WRONG and did not have sufficient enough resources to deal with the situation

The football club at the ned of the day do not decide on how many police will be at the game, that's down to nit wits like that plonker on the radio earlier.
Have you considered that the level of policing for this game was based on advice from PAFC and I suspect, their desire, to keep costs as low as possible?

Damage limitation exercise before they get hauled in front of the FA and fined. They're hardly going to say anything else are they?
...and by saying such things, hoping the police will see no reason to up the number of officers for our next confrontation thereby increasing costs.

Don't the police categorise the game rather than the club? Obviously, the club would have input but the final decision rests with the police, doesn't it?

Block 17 now closed for December 11th game and all PAFC season ticket holders in that area are told they won't be reallocated as game is sold out.

No wonder PAFC are in such a state if they treat their own fans this way

Did you honestly expect anything else from them??

They're a club battling against bankruptcy - only avoided a winding-up order at the last hour only a few weeks ago....

So, that in mind, of course they did all they could to persuade the Police there wasn't any likelihood for trouble, thus keeping the Policing costs down.

And now this statement is just a feeble attempt to try and brush it over as a few BNP trouble-makers going along for the first time in a while in order to try and avoid an FA fine (which they will struggle to pay).

3rd post down is from OP writer Teign Green who says he is a season ticket holder. Keep up Jason
