Genuine question. I grew up in London following Arsenal, been to Millwall Chelsea Tottenham etc in the 80s, so Ive seen most things if Im honest. Nowadays I live a quiet life in the SW and have developed an affection for Exeter City, over the last 5 years I have been to a lot of games, mainly at home, although in the last couple of years I have branched out and been to a good few aways as well. My little boy who is 12 has started to watch City most home games with his mates and a few aways with me as well.
Now, Ive been to a few home games v Argyle where their fans seem fairly well dealt with to be honest, they get managed in and out of the station so unless they want to skip the escort and cause trouble later on then not much seems to happen.
However, Ive never been to an Argyle away game, but Ive sorted tickets for this one, with the little man who is being allowed to come on a school night as a special treat (he might be very tired at school next day but he doesn't do much there anyway). So just how bad is it? Ive heard stuff that makes it sound like world war 3 then on this thread there are a few cooler heads saying that its not that bad. Im a 16 stone fat skinhead so a few people in Stone Island jumpers shouting at me isn't going to worry me that much. But I don't want my boy to be REALLY scared especially now its at night. Ive heard stuff about kids getting spat at but is that really true? Is it likely to just be a case of hood up head down get out the ground and blend in with the crowd or is the little man going to be scared out his wits? Im actually planning to get someone to give me a lift away from the ground to her house in Plymouth where i will have parked earlier. Is this likely to be a terrifying experience for a 12 year old?
I wouldn't be surprised if the police hold the City fans back until the knuckle draggers have been dispersed.

The jpt night game where there was trouble was 2010 not 2011. A great night that won't be forgotten. Here's Nards last seconds winner

Good times. I remember one of the players saying when Nards scored and they went over to celebrate he was surprised no-one was looking at them...We were all looking at the knuckle draggers in the Lyndhurst 🤣🤣🤣

Depends what her driving is like I suppose.
Seriously though all though there are small number of sad-sacks (from both sides!) who look forward to games like this to relive their "glory days" of the 70s plus the little scrotes who dream of being their elders' mini-me's keep your eyes open, and your expression neutral when arriving and leaving me you should be fine.

Still several dozen remaining I think, but as purchasers have until the Wednesday before the game to seek refunds we can expect a trickle of returns even after they sell out.
