Good luck with the photography venture Magz! When I took the picture below against Torquay i couldn't understand why the lights were all blurry until the missus, being a bit of an amateur photographer, told me it was because I took it in the dark and the exposure was long. I think it looks kind of cool.



I don't think this is caused by a slow shutter speed (long exposure) because there is very little blurring except of the lights themselves. I reckon this is actually a combination of lens flare and the digital chip being unable to cope with the contrast difference.

Keep working on it and you'll get there by March 2019.

I would hold out for a DSLR with a full size CCD. IIRC the 20D had the APS-C CCD.
