In an interesting sort of way, I think this is actually quite an important game for us and I hope that GC and the squad are looking at it the same way. Of course, no real pressure on the result and certainly unlikely to warrant much criticism if we lose, but Oxford have been a good side over the course of this season and I think now we seem to have hit our stride again, it could be a really useful barometer to show exactly where we are at presently, and the level we would need to be at if we want to challenge for the play-offs next season. I know it's not an exact indicator as no two seasons are the same and the level towards the top of League One next year may increase or it may drop slightly, but I certainly think it can be a marker.

They've got something to play for, so if we treat it right, could be two teams properly going at it and seeing who comes out on top.

I'm going hopeful and saying the boys come out 3-2 winners in the final few minutes, back by a sun drenched (extra hopeful), rip-roaring SJP.

They are.
They've been saying it throughout this run of games.

For instance.
Will Aimson post Northampton match:

"To keep the unbeaten run going that was the main focus.
It's easy in these moments to, you know ... we're obviously safe and (there's) the old saying "we've got nothing to play for" but we definitely do.
We want to finish the season as strong as as we possibly can ...
... and we were trying to reiterate before today 'We've got two cup finals left and we want to finish as high up the league as we possibly can'".

It's been good to hear them echo this across the squad and management and they have all certainly stuck on the idea of finishing the season in the best possible way etc. I just think, given that it's a fair assessment to say Oxford are currently where we aspire to be, IMO it's more than just wanting to finish the season as strong as possible, but going one further and using it to help shape and give even more confidence ahead of next season. Can we outplay, outscore, outperform a top side. Personally hope we see the best version of Oxford possible and it's a proper high quality game. I'd wager we'll learn more about our chances next season from Saturday compared to much we see in pre-season.

And of course, hopefully it ends up giving the fans the send off they deserve for the support this season, even through the bleak months post September.

Oxford must really be dreading playing us at the moment. Set up nicely for a really good end of season game. Prediction- we won’t lose.

I think we'll win. Oxford have been on a mixed run of form and the pressure is all on them. We can continue to play with the freedom that has served us so well recently, confidence is sky high at the moment. 3-1 City, Kite (Pen), Cole, and Harris.

A full house but with plenty of visibly empty seats. Someone asks the question on Exeweb after the game if season ticket holders who don't attend are included in the attendance.

Not too concerned about the result, going to be a massive party as far as I'm concerned. Would love to see a goal for Niskanen though!

Millwall 3, Arghgyle 0.

Well I surprised to see there are not opening the gates until 1pm
Still I suppose we can watch from outside the ground and catch the second half

Well it would, at least, explain all those "visibly empty seats" that dear old Snoopy-Pup is predicting.
