I havent had a new mug for a year and they have always lasted well.
Either a new naff batch for you or and odd bad one.

I have one i got about 20 years ago. My wife retired it as the printing was practically worn to nothing. Hoping for a new one this year but suspect my missus will provide me with a load of useless tat as usual!
