Yet another case of FL doing nuffin. ''We didn't deduct points because they lost the game'' What sort of fecking comment is that? Its the norm that clubs get docked a point or 2. I'm sure if a club is relegated by 1 point with Mansfield staying up they will regret not kicking off at a judgement that is a joke. Its like someone being in court for speeding at 100mph but not getting points or banned because they didn't crash.

If Mansfield had of won then that would have denied Exeter Points due to playing players not legal to play for them. Exeter would have been at a loss due to this. So they are saying they would have taken points off Mansfield if they won these points due to this.Would Exeter have been given the points in retrospect had Mansfield won?

This is taken from the 2013/14 FA handbook. This is all it mentions on ineligible players;

6.9 PLAYING AN INELIGIBLE PLAYER
Any Club found to have played an ineligible Player in a match shall have any points gained from that match deducted from its record and have levied upon it a fine. The Company may vary this decision in respect of the points gained only in circumstances where the ineligibility is due to the failure to obtain an International Transfer Certificate or where the ineligibility is related to the Player’s status only.
The Board may also order that such match be replayed on such terms as are decided by the Board which may also levy penalty points against the Club in default.
A case from Switzerland were 6 ineligible players were played v Celtic;
Maybe the most remarkable case of a club breaching eligibility rules occurred back in 2011, when Swiss side FC Sion were deducted 36 points and kicked out of Europe after fielding a total of six ineligible players.

The Swiss side, who at the time were under a FIFA transfer embargo, proceeded to sign six players and play them in their Europa League play-off against Celtic, a competition they were subsequently expelled from.

With the Swiss FA initially reluctant to punish Sion, FIFA threatened to ban the Swiss national side and all their domestic clubs from their competitions if no action was taken.

As a result, Sion were deducted 36 points, three for each of the 12 games that one of the ineligible players featured in. The deduction left them rock bottom of the league on minus five points and left them facing an end-of season relegation play-off that they managed to successfully negotiate.

This situation could potentionally have implications come the end of the season ?

Absolutely. As Rog says above - had they beaten you they would have lost 3 points but that 3 points would not have been given to Exeter.

Most recent case would have been Hartlepool, but they won 2-0 and no point were awarded to Brighton
