Loving the free flowing entertaining football at S
I think his record stands up to anyones in the England ODI Side...better than most from memory.

Good all round player , no chance he will be dropped from the test side either after his ton late in the summer.

I can't see him in the Test side at the mo.
It was only two test matches ago that he scored a brilliant hundred for England

Its unfair on Collingwood to be singled out

how about dropping Ian Bell from the one dayer, if ever there was a frustrating player to watch in the one dayers it is Ian Bell. You always know he is not going to get past mid 30s and mid 40s

Collingwood has always been a fighter and I am sure he will do the same again

I still remember his brilliant first century against India in the last tour

As I said England need atleast one specialist opening batsman in their team

My feelings on Bell have been well-known for a while. Ever since he faffed around for failure after failure in 2005 while a certain other player was top-scorer in England...

Colly's batting, unfortunately, seems to have lapsed back into that prior to the (magnificent) ton he scored vs SA, when it was do or die for him. At the moment he is in the ODI side for one thing alone, and that is his superb fielding. He was (and IMO should be) someone who could bowl 10 overs, but KP seems to have other ideas about his bowling - which to my mind actually displays KP's lack of respect for anyone who isn't mega-quick (hence his curious disdain for spinners given he is one himself).

I hope to be proved wrong (as I really like the guy), but I can't see much of a future for him at Test (maybe International) level.

I do agree on the ODI opener, though. With Tresco out of the picture, I'd still like to see Strauss given a go. Not only does he provide the stability, he can also get a shift on - I *think* he is right up there with the highest score in a ODI for England? If not THE highest? Although I'm not sold on him overall, I'd like to see Bopara given a chance up there - he usually opens in OD Cricket for Essex, so is used to being up top.

Collingwood did bowl 8 overs in the second one dayer, he got tonked for 15 runs in over in the first one though

Collingwood's medium pacer swingers doesn't work in the flat pitches in the subcontinent unfortunately. Yuvraj, Sehwag and Dhoni would smash him all over the park.

Collingwood is at his best when people write him off so lets hope he bounces back this time as well.

I like Strauss as a player unfortunately he is too one dimensional for one day cricket. He does have highest score for 152* but that was against Bangladesh, after that his record is pretty poor

Whatever happened to Alistair Cook

You can shove your stone island up your arse, this
IMO Alistair Cook cannot score quick enough for ODIs. He usually drops anchor in Test matches and i don't think he could do a job in ODIs.

Agree with Pelsey. We need to attack in the Powerplays and Cook just doesn't do that. If only Trescothick would come back.......

England 270-4 after 50 overs. Pietersen and Shah calling the shots 111 and 66 not out.
Decent score, but i imagine India to go and beat that. Players at lunch at the moment.

Another top knock by Owais, who has been far and away England's top batsman in this series. With no Bell in the side, I wonder whether that could have a knock-on effect in Test selection.

India edging towards another victory. 67 to win off 13 overs.

Had been a bit interesting when England picked up 3 quick wickets, but now a done deal. 0-5.
