Heres something that occurs to me: When might a shot off target result in a goal (and I'm not thinking of o.gs or deflections off the ref.) It happens a lot.

When it goes in off the woodwork? if it doesn't go in it's registered as a shot off target.

That's what I was thinking. a shot against the post is a shot off target but if it rebounds and goes in then it's a goal. If the ball hits the post and is then cleared off the line who decides whether it's on target or not?
