The efl is made up of big clubs and little ones, accy Burton Albion,Shrewsbury,Rochdale etc are all in the same bracket as us,but if you don’t aim for the stars you ain’t gonna reach them.we will never be able to compete with the big budget clubs, but that doesn’t mean we can’t punch above our weight !

Seeing an away defeat at anfield as a managerial failure is the perfect example of how a lot of our fanbase have completely dissociated themselves from reality. Wanting an inquest after a playoff final defeat... expectations are way off kilter. We finished FOURTH. We are not entitled to it. The way people moan, it's as if we're a portsmouth or Coventry, well below where we should expect.
I certainly have not dissociated myself from reality. However by leaving one of our goal scorers and the star of the first leg on the bench. It was a managerial defeat, handing the initiative to Liverpool from the off, as he set us up to lose.

And why should we expect to be where we are? What about 'little' Accrington , it hasn't held them back.
The only team in the league with less money than us that finished above us. Their best season in what, 50 years maybe?

it's disappair'd
That interview is breathtaking. He doesn't want to think about what he got wrong, but he sure as hell has no trouble telling the Supporters Trust & the fans what they're getting wrong. And he really still doesn't get what happened when the Trust, fully democratically, voted to end the rolling contract. He calls that process surreal. The rolling contract was surreal. And really, what does he think will happen when he is at the whim of an unaccountable owner? The Trust process was open, democratic, widely debated fully open to scrutiny. Someone in the Club needs to make this very clear to him. And to make equally clear that if he doesn't like the Trust ownership model, & if he chooses to keep badmouthing it so publicly, he can walk away, with our thanks.

My thoughts exactly. He also, when asked if it was going to be a problem if he and Perryman left at the same time, said 'well they should have thought of that shouldn't they?'. Did Perryman state 18 months in advance of his decision to leave?

In truth we probably already are, pushing for league 2 promotion the last couple of seasons... with the budget and current squad we have that is pretty much miraculous...
