Didn’t Steve Moran score a hat trick against us in our first home game after the Championship season. Go all season unbeaten at home, get promoted them boom, lose the first game the following season. Talk about back down to earth with a bump.
Pretty sure the hat trick in that game was scored by Jimmy Quinn who became a bit of a nemesis over the next few seasons.

Ask a Morecambe fan, they will probably have a better idea than anyone.
given the multiple footballing experts that purport to roam the streets of Exeweb I’m surprised I’d have to do that

Yeah, Maxi has been a bit quiet. I would have thought he'd have a note or two in his Encyclopedia of Modern Footballers to pass on.

He did. Including a peach of a free kick.
I remember in an interview Curo said there was a point where he knew he wanted to play as long as he could so changed the way he looked after himself, particularly after a match with proper recovery. I don't think that was a thing when Morano was playing 😉.

As for Caleb Watts, he looked good against us in the away game up at Morecambe last season in a game we should have won. Then again a few have looked good against us and then not as good when we signed them...Manny Panther, Steve Phillips...but we seem to be likely to get the best out of players lately. Let's hope Caleb settles in and we can get the best out of him.

Feels to me like Watts falls into the same category as Kegs. May be a player there eventually but not necessarily going to be a first choice right now. He said in his interview that there were some games he felt he played well in at Morecambe but others he didn't.

Better than Kegs? Would be the question that I'd ask.
