Because I think he has an excellent record with judging the young players. He doesn't have the same misguided loyalty towards them that he does with some senior pros like Russell, Stewart, Cozic, Tully etc
Good luck to Gosling. I suspect it could prove just as hard to get into their as it did ours though.
Question for those bemoaning this deal: What is it that you're upset about? The fact that we've released a local lad or do you really rate Gosling? I really can't remember being overly impressed...
Despite being light on numbers and with no prospect of immediate additions, I don't feel too bad about the crop that we have left. I won't think twice again about anyone who has left thus far.
It would probably be beneficial to have Davies and Oakley sign on again, but if they don't it...
I like the idea of a reformed "AFC Exeter" type club but I'm not sure if it would feel the same. If the new club didn't grab me I doubt I'd watch another team on a regular. I'd be able to be more committed to playing for my local side on Saturdays.
