The Next Exeter City First Team Manager Thread

Cameron Toshack. Did well as Swansea City's U23 manager, and brought the Cypriot club Pafos the highest wins ratio in their history. Until recently an assistant coach at Leeds. Would he move here to be a number one?

    Former Players

I haven't noticed any news about Noel Blake since he left the England set-up and thought an update would be in order. Apologies if I have missed any similar posts. After the FA job Noel had a short period at Blackpool that didn't work out, but then sadly ran into health problems. Noel had a...

Exeter City vs AFC Wimbledon Official Matchday Thread

Good result, despite having to hang on at the end. Thanks to LL and others for the updates - very useful for those of us who are far away. Sporting Life was way behind with their text updates.

    New striker ?

Perhaps Tis should ask Garry Monk if he can have Rory Donnelly for a month or two. He had his first game for the Swans' under-21s recently after a period out injured. Barrow would be the better one, but I can't see him being loaned out.

Best manager in the Football League

Tis has made mistakes, but I think that he does have the ability to build a team with very limited resources. A club in our financial situation is always going to suffer periods in the doldrums, but I'm happy to enjoy the current run of results and give credit where credit is due.

    Jamie Reid

Very well done to the lad! The only note of caution I'd sound is that two cracks like that from distance may go in on a good day, but not every week. Still if you don't shoot you don't score, and he has certainly earned the chance of more starts.

    D*ck Pyms parrot

Well I'm not quite sure exactly what kind of gull Dido was, but he is said to have had a powerful effect. Of course, that's another story from ECFC history.

Just to a note to say that I have appreciated Older Codger's posts in recent years and hope he will reconsider.

    Artur's penalty save

As a former member of the G/K's union I'd say it was a good save, but not as good as some of the early reports suggested (high to the keeper's left etc). If truth be told, it was a weak penalty placed too close to the keeper and at a nice height: Artur's problem was more the risk that he would...

    Bauza's bike

Nice to see less social distance between the fans and players. My stepfather used to tell the story of how in the old days the Kirton boys - Fred Davey, Keith Harvey etc - could often be seen on the normal service bus back to Crediton.

Chesterfield v exeter city official match day thread

Very encouraging result, and thank you Mr Fletcher for that 93rd minute equaliser at Walsall - which could be crucial for us.

How can Tis get an 100K striker in on loan?

Well it may be a long shot, but he could do worse than ring Brendon Rogers and offer to take Rory Donnelly until the end of the season. Swansea signed the Cliftonville striker today, beating off competition from Liverpool, and Rogers has made it clear that he wants to ease the lad in slowly...

    Information on Fred Whitlow required

Nice thread! How we could do with something like the Whitlow, Varco, Houghton forward line today. P.S. I met the club captain from that time, Charlie Miller, when he was in his sixties many years ago - a great City stalwart and a man with more than a few tales to tell.
