Argyle are top crocks. Certainly do not want that at season end.
Agreed ! Although another 44 identical results would see us finish as Champions with a record points total and the slime at the very least six points behind us ! Lol. UTC

Who played right back / right wing back today then ?

I thought we were playing with a back four with Sweeney, Parkes, Moxey and Woodman.
Williams, was dropping back to cover and showed some good defensive discipline. The problem was that Woodman did nothing wrong but clearly hasn't got the legs to be a wing-back and it meant there was very little attacking threat on the left-hand side. The formation solved the conundrum of getting Nicky Law more central and still having two strikers but will surely only work if Jack Sparkes is given a chance.

How did Ajose perform today?
He tried hard but was fairly ineffective and we looked much more dangerous after Lee Martin came on.

Far away across the field

It will be interesting to see the line up against Coventry.

I would expect a lot of changes, possibly as many as 7.

We were good in the final third. Sweeney was truly awful. He has to be replaced. Taylor and Collins both poor. New players ward parkes and ajose all player well. Williams MOM.

Thanks for that.

Poor first half, we seemed to have forgotten how to pass! Gave the ball away far to often and far too easily. Banging hopeful long balls just isn't going to work.
Second half much better. We used the ball better and with more purpose. Lee Martin also made a big difference when he came on. Bit of class for the goal.
We deserved the win - just.

Not inexplicable at all. I think Matt Taylor wants centre-halves who can play the ball out and sees that as a weakness in Aaron Martin's game. Today we tried to play with 3 at the back and the manager thought that Parkes was better suited to the sweeper role between Moxey and Sweeney; given how well Parkes played that looks like a good call.
Why sign him then? He's surely one of the higher earners, if he saw a hole in his game that would be incompatible with the style of play he wanted, don't waste budget on him!

Agree with you about Sweeney struggling, but Collins and Taylor were both very good watching it on I-Follow. Both protected the back four very well and Taylor especially broke up play well and won numerous free-kicks which helped break up the play for us. Both of their performances helped restrict Lewis Ward only having to make one real save (all be it a very good one in the first 5 mins) all game!
