Paul Tisdale and Alan Knill on Northampton v Exeter

The Grecians will be visiting Sixfields on Saturday for a League 2 game. Kick off is at 3pm. More information and relevant links can be found in Jason’s match preview at http://www.exeweb.com/2014/08/28/next-up-northampton-away/

Paul Tisdale speaking to Exeter’s Club website said of the game:-

We haven’t got a large group of players to select, and with two, three or four injuries, it becomes very difficult.Tisdale_at_peterborough

Fingers crossed, I’m hoping this will be the last game of this challenging period, because I’m hoping within the next seven days we’ll have those players returning.  Assuming we don’t get injuries on Saturday, suddenly we’ll have a different-look squad next week.

Northampton is a tough place to go to – we’ve not been that successful there too many times other than the win last year.  So we’re hoping to repeat last year’s performance and win.  It’ll be hard work and we’re looking forward to it.

I would suggest now that they [Northampton Town] have got a blank canvas and have started again, they’ve got some good players and a competent manager and I would imagine they’ll be putting a team together that’s capable of challenging for the top third and a play-off place.

In response Assistant Manager of Northampton Town speaking to NTFC’s website offered:-

Managers say it all the time but it really isn’t about the opposition and if we are at our best then we can make it a tough afternoon for Exeter.rochdale_bench_knill

It’s up to us to make sure that we are at our best and we need to show that hunger and desire to get the three points and if we can do that then it will have been a good start for us.

We’ve had a tough month with the games we’ve had and the injuries we’ve picked up but a win on Saturday would make it a decent return.
