Former City Star Harley is a Robin

Former City midfielder Ryan Harley, 28, signed today for Swindon Town and has joined his new team in Portugal. Harley moved from Brighton and Hove Albion on a 2 year deal.

Speaking to Swindon Town’s official site Harley said:-

I’m delighted. The lads all seem really bubbly. It’s a young squad – one of the youngest I’ve seen actually but that can be a good thing. I know three or four of the lads here that I’ve played with before. They seem a good bunch and team spirit looks really good. I’m looking forward to it.

I’m an attacking midfielder. I like to get forward and try to create and score goals. That’s what my game is about and that’s what I’ll be looking to do.

I’ve played a lot in League One. It’s a tough league to get out of. Obviously Swindon came close last year and hopefully we can go one step further this year.

Ryan was a favourite amongst Exeter City fans. Especially for his dead ball ability and his skills in taking the ball out of Ryan_Harley_featdefence and setting up an attacking move.

In Ryan Harley played 138 times for the Grecians scoring 32 times. He joined City in January 2008, having been at Weston-Super-Mare. He signed for Swansea City in January 2011 on a free transfer, but was immediately loaned back to City to complete the season, and help Exeter to finish one of its highest league positions in it history.
