Billy Jones on Exeter v Cheltenham

Former Grecian Billy Jones, 29, has been talking to the Cheltenham Town official site about Saturday’s crucial game. Billy left at the end of last season after turning down a new contract with Exeter City. He’s an almost ever present with Mark Yates team, and had provided 14 assists.

BillyJones2Billy has 2 stints with the Grecians, a move to Crewe being in the middle. The game will mean something to him, though his loyalty on Saturday will only be one way.

It’s tough with these sorts of games because you want to approach it in two ways. I really enjoyed my time down there and I’ll be seeing a few old faces which will be good but I’ll be concentrating on the game and will be aiming to get maximum points.

It could be a really good open game but hopefully we will come out on top. We’ll probably leave the win ratio stat alone this week because it’s important our focus is on working hard this week so we are prepared for the game.

That statistic is of course the 100% record the Robins have against the Grecians since coming in to the Football League in 1999.

As mentioned earlier in the week on Exeweb.com Cheltenham are laying on free coaches in the hope of boosting the away crowd. Billy believes the fans will need to play their part once again at St James Park.

The fans could definitely play their part on Saturday because it could be a great day for us if we get what we need.

It’s great that the Chairman has put on free coaches for the supporters because we want to take as many as we can down to St James Park to support us.
