He might have had a bit of a dip (not as bad as many made out), but he has been a very good signing overall.

Seems like every game we have played which has involved a team going down to ten, whether it has been us or the oppos, we have won! That's superb team management that is!

Body langauge all wrong, clearly doesnt want to be here, lets call him Aimless......

Always rated him and the criticism from some was well over the top. At one point he was as much a scapegoat as James Scott.

True but definitely my player of the season for fighting back going on to put in some great defensive performances leading from the front and scoring some very good and top quality goals all of which were well taken and well above the quality of goals usually scored from a player who is essentially a defender.

Very well done to him.

Coming through our bad patch Caldwell called for leaders on the pitch and he found them notably amongst our center backs.
Aimson, our chosen captain went through a terrible spell and was relieved of his leadership abilities whilst he was given time to find his feet. He was not dropped but Sweeny was allowed to take control at the back which he did with aplomb, I have been critical of his abilities in the past but never his heart and courage. Caldwell has stated that he wants to see his center backs battered, bruised and covered in blood after a game, no doubt that is how he himself played and certainly a state of being that supporters of such players as Matt and Shaun Taylor will recognise! So finally he replaced the somewhat distracted Hartridge and gave the LCB role to Jules, another player prepared to put his body on the line and take command of his position, another leader.
Eventually Aimson, supported by his fellow defenders, did find his true self and is now playing with the kind of guts and determination that he was always capable of, a true leader.
Quality man management from GC, got the best out of his players without upsetting anyone and keeping everyone, including fringe players on board with his ideas.

Loving the boy Stanno
Jules seems to have raised his game since purrington arrived too - another example of competition for places improving standards?

Sam Hoskins of Northampton found one of them on Saturday.

Why does everyone think that when someone has either a poor turn of form or are generally just rubbish, when it's mentioned then they're all of a sudden a scapegoat. Scott IS *****, he's not a scapegoat, he's just *****. Aimson had a period where he was awful, that's not making him a scapegoat, he was awful. Thankfully that period appears to have been a blip, but James Scott is still *****.

I do wonder what the people that booed Aimson are thinking now. Clearly he lost his form and his confidence, and a few times was visibly seen to react to comments from the crowd. But what message were the boo-ers trying to convey? He never gave less than 100%, he always put his body on the line, but he did make some silly mistakes. Given his recent brilliant displays, some people must be feeling very silly right now.

I feel we as fans are often far too quick to pass judgement on players - Alli is a great example. However, booing one of your own players is just totally counter productive - the only exception to that rule was Andy Woodman who deserved every pelter he got
