Been a feature of Ampadus game. Too slow in the tackle, should have been sent off after persistent fouling of Grealish, simply not good enough.

Very late challenge, in todays game its a red. 25 years ago you wouldn't even get a free kick

Wales meet Finland or Russia in last 16. Don't know if Amps misses one game or two with the direct red. Apparently he's the youngest player ever to get a direct red in the Euros. Way to get noticed

Automatic one game suspension - carried over to the next international tournament if red card received in the last game.
FIFA can increase the punishment but very unlikely in this case.

Do agree SEA but that ex-ref ITV uses for certain decisions says it was a red.
Walton has agreed with every refereeing and VAR decision. As it’s the only straight red dished out in the 26 games played so far he presumably thinks it was the worst foul of the tounament.

It is a worrying part of his game the lunging tackles, but on the flip he is 20 years old, playing a strong Italian team in Rome at a major championship.

You have to make allowances for that and there is still plenty of time for him to mature. A little bit premature to state he is simply not good enough.

Look at Grimes, who had a few years in the wilderness and is now the bedrock of a very good Championship side having matured greatly over the last couple of years.

It was late and it was a booking. Let's not get over dramatic. The Italian was quicker to the ball. There will be worse challenges that will get away with less.

Ludicrous for anyone to say he is not good enough but like yourself I have noticed this type challenge has crept into his game. I honestly don’t think he is a dirty player but whilst not💯sure I think this might be the third red card of his career to date.

Gutted for him and us as I was really hoping he was going to have a good Euros to put him well and truly in the transfer shop window and generate some more cash for us.

Wales could get through to the quarter finals but unless possibly coming on as a sub I can’t see him likely to have any further involvement in the tournament.

Indeed. And if it is true that there are still "add ons" on the table for us hope he plays a blinder and starts the bidding on a world stage!!
No need for the 'if it is true' qualification. The position is absolutely clear.

City get 20% of any future transfer or loan fee that Chelsea receive for Ethan (NB Chelsea are already in profit having received more in loan fees than they paid is for him!)

And there is potentially another £1.25m in add ons for competitive first team Chelsea appearances.
