Weren't we also meant to be giving a trial to an Arsenal youngster? As I see Wenger's released eight youth / reserve players today...

Left back Rene Steer was released today from Arsenal, I believe we have showed an interest in him.

He'll unlock a few defences. His fitness isn't good - he's a bit chubb(y).

I miss Setanta....
If the coventry link is true a Maltese striker whos surname is Mifsud has been released by them today. Was on loan at Barnsley for 6 months last season...........
Erstwhile, Michael Mifsud had a few seasons for Lillestrøm in the Norwegian Tippeliga. Started up mostly on the bench but improving steadily and ending up as, I think, a highly regarded player who notched a few decent goals.

I recall when our national side played Malta, he was their "star" player whilst still mostly on the bench in the Tippeliga.

I really don't know what he would cost salarywise, but he could definitely be a super player for us. Lightweight, but quick feet and head. And: we would have a player who'd be capped regularly - let's go shopping !
