So Roman Abramovich has now been sanctioned. Meaning Chelsea cannot sell any tickets, and more importantly buy and sell players. With Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger’s contracts all expire at the end of this season, sure Ethan will be given a chance to shine. £££
err, I think you will find their are a exemptions worthy of War and Peace in their length.

The fee Venezia are due to pay Chelsea for loaning Ampadu will be worked out at the end the season based on how many games he plays. As things stand Chelsea under sanctions cannot receive the fee. Will our 20% cut of the fee come straight to us from Venezia or do we get f**ked over.
Also if Chelsea can’t afford to pay their players wages they will all, presumably, be free to leave without a fee meaning City lose out on a sell on.

No doubt the Grecians will be screwed over somehow.

This sanctioning of Abramovich is very handy.
A high profile scalp after the slowness of nailing dodgy Russian money in the past few weeks(Years in total)
A well known name in the UK from football that deflects attention from others with close links to the government.

No mention of Abramovich’s ties to Putin when he was giving money to the NHS or putting up their staff at his expense in Hotels during the pandemic.

I’m not a Chelsea supporter btw...

When presenting the proposal for the training ground improvements the club said it was budgeting for a million pounds transfer income over the next four transfer windows. I suspect that projection was based mainly on "guaranteed" income from Ampadu’s progress. That might now have disappeared.

We are contractually obliged to receive this money from Chelsea. Chelsea wont fold or anything like it. As long as RA doesnt get any money from the sale, it can still go through

This.

We will get our percentage of the loan fee Chelsea are receiving from Venezia, and similarly if he plays games for them, has further loans or is transferred for a fee. The biggest risk is that he runs his contractual clock down and goes for nothing, when we would presumably get nothing.

And we are still going to get more stage payments and add-ons from Watkins' sojourn at Villa - including £150K this season for them staying up, other sums if he plays more games for England or reaches other benchmarks. Maybe not as much as during the last few years but still it all helps.
