I think Dieng looked very tired recently, even when he has scored. Another night off do him good and be better for the remaining games.

I think Dieng has pulled his hamstring but the club weren't sure whether it was a tear or a strain? Either way he'll be out for a few weeks if true.

This preview would suggest other wise:

'Matt Jay looks set to be recalled in an advanced midfield role, while someone, potentially Cheick Diabate, may have to deputise in an unfamiliar defensive-midfield role if Dieng is deemed unavailable'

Posts on this thread carry as much weight as that article.

No doubting that but the choice is Hartridge or Sweenz in midfield, Sweenz would be the better option and Chieck would be more comfortable on the right being right footed. All the evidence stacks up to a no brainer.
I still think the most likely option is MJ dropping back.

I have to agree. Collins plus Jay may be lightweight but at least MJ has experience and some discipline to play there.

And who's replacing him? MJ is already playing in the middle as part of the midfield three, that's part of the reason his goals have dried up.

Coley to play alongside Jevani behind Zanzala or one of Amond or Phillips to play alongside Zanzala with Brown in the hole.

I could also argue a case for Coley starting tonight ahead of Jevani but I can't be arsed!

It's highly unlikely the manager would start a player in holding midfield for the first time in a fixture as big as this one. I think the most likely selection for the deepest midfield spot is Archie Collins, with someone playing a bit out of position in front of him, eg Jay, Sparkes etc. I agree that Coley looked lost on Saturday but he has fresh legs and this could get him a start as a runner up front tonight.
