Ilmari Niskanen Joins the Grecians

On Tuesday Exeter City announced the signing of Ilmari Niskanen from Dundee United. The 25-year-old Finnish international signed for an undisclosed fee for two years, and is a wing back. The signing is subject to international clearance.

The Finn started his footballing career in Finland with KuPs and during a seven year spell scored 13 goals in just under 150 appearances. He joined German 3rd tier Bundesliga side FC Ingolstadt in 2020 on a one-year deal, helping them gain promotion.

In August 2021 Niskanen signed for Dundee United. He left United after making 61 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.

Niskanen has also played international football for Finland at u17, u19 andu21 levels, making his senior debut in 2020 against Wales in the UEFA Nations League.
