EFL Opening Weekend Televised Games Announced

The EFL and Sky Sports have announced the televised game for the opening weekend of the EFL. Four games have been chosen and they’re all from the Championship, League One and League Two don’t feature.

Two promoted sides and two relegated team feature in the televised games.

Friday 4 August - Sheffield Wednesday v Southampton 20.00
Sunday 6 August – Leicester City v Coventry City 12.00
Sunday 6 August – Leeds United v Cardiff City 14.30
Sunday 6 August – Sunderland v Ipswich Town 17.00

For the 2023/24 season Sky Sports will show 145 live matches exclusively from the EFL, as well as an additional eight co-exclusive* fixtures. There will also be 15 matches from the Carabao Cup, at least three from the EFL Trophy and the Play-Offs in their entirety.
