Tom Nichols and Paul Tisdale in Football League’s Team of the Week

After an impressive 4-0 win over previously unbeaten Leyton Orient the Football League have recognised Tom Nichols ability fro the spot and his contribution to the result by including him in their team of the week. For masterminding the 4-0 win, the Football League also recognised the efforts of Paul Tisdale by making him the manager of the week.

The fill list is:

  • Keeper – Colin Doyle (Backpool)
  • Defenders: Ben Coker (Southend), Reece Burke (Bradford City), Peter Clarke (Bury) and Michael Harriman (Wycombe)
  • Midfielders: Danny Green (Luton), Jordan Clarke (Shrewsbury), and Tom Smiths (Swindon)
  • Forwards: Derek Asamoah (Carlisle), Matt McClure (Dagenham and Redbridge) and Tom Nichols (Exeter).
  • Manager: Paul Tisdale (Exeter)

On Tom, they Football said:-

Nichols kept his cool as Exeter recorded a 4-0 win over Leyton Orient at St James Park, to end the O’s 100 per cent record in 2015/16.

Nichols was fouled in the box early on and made no mistake from 12 yards. Then, when David Wheeler was unfairly challenged in the area later on, the striker converted again from the spot.

Exeter’s victory was masterminded by Paul Tisdale, with the Grecians boss praising his side for a clinical display as they brought Orient’s perfect start to the Sky Bet League 2 season to an abrupt end.
