The London based Exeter Exiles don’t really need an excuse for a new flag, but a trip to Brazil to celebrate the centenary of the first ever international for the national Brazil team is though worthy of a flag.

While the Grecians won’t be playing the Brazil national team this time around, there is a game against Fluminense which might see many of the Brazilian under 21 Olympic team feature. There is also a game against Brazilian side Tupi.

So, journalist and Exeter City fan Andrew Gardner has organised a new flag to be produced, using Barmy Flags to do so. Actually two flags have been produced. One for the Exiles and one for the Club so that the Club can hand over to Fluminense.

The Exiles flag was launched at the wedding of an Exeter City fan (Chris Lang), but had its first public display at the book launch for Aidan Hamilton’s book about the 1914 tour titled ‘The Day we Played Brazil”. Incidentally you can get this Supporters Trust book from the Supporters Club website, here.

No doubt supporters at away games will get to see the new Exeter City/Brazil flag. Exeweb.com is also hoping to bring pictures from Brazil of both the flags in action.
