Fernando Torres, speaking to FIFA,  on their 5-1 defeat:-manaus_poster

We came up short on the night. We didn’t have any solution to the Netherlands’ gameplan. We gave their full-backs too much space and they had all the time they needed to play balls in behind us. They created a lot of chances on the counter, and it doesn’t matter how many goals they scored. We just can’t make any excuses. They were better, as simple as that.

Arjen Robben, speaking to FIFA,  on their win:-

It’s a fantastic feeling to have scored those goals. I have to say, I’m just so proud of my team. It’s always nice to score a couple of goals but I’m far prouder of the side. I’m proud of our performance because that’s what really matters.
