Matt Gill also Turns up at Tranmere

Tranmere Rovers have announced that Exeter City’s midfielder Matt Gill has joined them on a one year contract as player-coach.

This is the second player that Rob Edwards has taken from the matt_gill_featGrecians, having picked up free agent Eliott Richards yesterday.

Manager Rob Edwards said:

I’m really pleased Matt has agreed to join us as player-coach.

He’s someone who will come in and help the Club raise the bar. He will contribute on the pitch and on the training ground and is someone who will help everyone around the Club.

He’ll help the younger players learn about winning, about how to train properly and understand what the Club is about.

33 year old Matt Gill added: –

Rob has asked me to come as player-coach which is a great opportunity for me, I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in.

I’m really excited about working with players and to be as much help to them as possible.

I’m desperate to carry on playing too, enjoy my football and add value to the team.
