Burton Albion drew 2-2 this afternoon at Roots Hall against Southend United to win 3-2 on aggregate. Fleetwood drew 0-0 at home to York City yesterday to go through 1-0 on aggregate.

Fleetwood finished 4th in League 2 this season, and were one of the few clubs Exeter City managed the double over winning 2-1 up at Highbury in September and then 3-0 at home in March.southend_exeter_pic3

Burton finished 6th in League 2. The Grecians took only the 1 point off Burton. Losing to a late goal 1-0 at home last October then Burton came from behind in the away game to make it 1-1 in February.

No neutral zone is expected at Wembley, so tickets will have to be bought in one of the ‘end’ if you’re interested in attending.

Man of the Match, Burton Albion’s Chris Hussey, on getting to the Final:-

We showed today how good we are as a team. We might not have the biggest budget but we’re off to Wembley, I’m delighted.

Fleetwood’s Matty Blair, who scored the only goal in the two legs, said: –

We deserved to win the tie. I’m sure we’ll go and have a celebration tonight and then get ourselves right and ready for the big day out.
