Why Not Visit the National Football Museum?

With Exeter City playing Bury on Saturday (5th April) there is an opportunity for Grecians to catch up with the 125 year old history of the Football League. national_football_museum_thumb

The National Football Museum is situated in Manchester and is 3 minutes from the tram stop at Shudehill which is on the way to Bury.

As well as the history of the Football League and its clubs, there are a number of Exeter City related items to look for. Representing Exeter City are three items:

  • the matchworn Dunga shirt from the Brazil legends friendly in 2004 on the club’s centenary;
  • a framed photo of Dunga and Glenn Cronin from the same match; andDon Valley, Rotherham United Sheffield
  • a plaque of the original Exeter City v Brazil match from 1904.

Plus there is a piece of Radio Devon commentary from 2 key football matches for Exeter City, with Jimmy Giles closing down the Old Trafford game, and Graham Kirk unable to contain is excitement as Logan heads a goal at Don Valley as City secured back to back promotions.
