League 2 Player and Manager of the Month Nominations for February

The Football League have just announced their nominations for League player of the month and manager of the month. The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News.

Player of the month nominations.

Scott Hogan (Rochdale). Had an excellent game at St James Park and while he didn’t score he kept the Exeter defence busy. Hogan scored 4 goalsin February including a hat-trick in the 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon.

Keith Lowe (York City). Lowe is on loan from Cheltenham, and has helped York City slowly move up the table.

Jim McNulty (Bury). McNulty arrived in January and has been a great help to Bury’s defence. He has been piviotal in tightening up their defence, with just 2 goals concded in 5 games.

Sam Winnall (Scunthorpe United). As Scunthorpe United continue their push for automatic promotion, he has scored 4 goals in 4 goals. All his goals have been different, headers, tap-ins and long range shots.

Manager of the month.

David Flitcroft (Bury). Bury have been slowly moving away from the relation zone. Flitcroft brought in some good players in January and this has helped the Shakers improve their performances. They were unbeaten in February picking up 11 points from five games.

John Sheridan (Plymouth Argyle). Despite being tonked 4-0 at Home Park by York City, Sheridan finds himself being nominated. Argyle have climbed to within a whisker of the play-offs with some wins in the last few weeks., including an impressive 4-0 win at Fleetwood.

Chris Wilder (Northampton Town). Much to most people’s surprise Wilder moved from high-flying Oxford United to struggling Northampton Town. Under Wilder’s guidance the Cobblers have moved away from the bottom place, but still sit in the relegation zone.

Nigel Worthington (York City). York have struggled to score at home, but an impressive 4-0 win away against Plymouth Argyle has helped them climb the table.
