On This Day: 21st February

On Thursday 21st February 1974 the senior players refused to attend a Thursday night training session, the local newspaper, the Express & Echo was reported. The 1st team players had played earlier in the week in a reserves match against Western League St Luke’s and had drawn 2-2. The manager was so angry with their performance that he had called his players in for an extra training session with the Club’s amateurs.

Exeter City played on the Saturday at 2nd place Gillingham and lost 2-1.
