Exeter City Appoint Under 18s Coach
Following the departure of Kwame Ampadu to Arsenal (reported here), the Club have been looking for a replacement. We understand a number of very able candidates applied, and the interviewing panel of Paul Tisdale and the Head of Youth Development Simon Hayward have decided to appoint Kevin Nicholson.
Kevin was with Derby County and coached their Under 16s side. He’d previously coached at Stoke City, moving to Derby in 2007. At Derby he also coordinated the elite players from 9s to 16s.
His playing career was very short. Having spent a number of years at Derby’s Centre of Excellence he was released as a 16-year-old. He spent a short time with the Kidderminster Harriers’ youth team but decided coaching was a better option for him.
Kevin has a UEFA A licence and has been included in the FAs elite coaches award scheme. Will he be able to match the success of the youth team last year, who got to the final of the Football League Youth Alliance Cup?
Welcome to the Cat and Fiddle Kevin.
