A Farewell to Pete and Hello to Whom?

The Club’s respected in-house journalist, Pete Evans is off to pastures new. The Press Association in fact.

Pete’s been with the Club for 3½ years having joined Exeter City after leaving University. His role has expanded in that time, and will have encompassed all the journalist functions of the club, including press liaison, club programme, club website and importantly made the Club have one of the highest presence on social media through Facebook and Twitter. So good is our presence that it helped deliver the £10k prize for the Npower fanstation contest last season.

To the author’s surprise that job doesn’t involve hobnobbing with the players and Paul Tisdale, but is back in St James Park and in with the commercial team. He drives to all the games, rather than on the player coach, and unusually, I believe, for a club journalist spends the game on the terraces with the fans (this may not be true when there is free wi-fi to be taken advantage of at an away ground!).

The Club therefore has a vacancy. A rather critical one that plays a key role in keeping the fans informed.
