It is with sadness that the club has to announce that Andy Tillson will no longer be taking up the position of assistant manager for the coming season.

Andy has had a good offer from Exeter City to become Paul Tisdale's assistant and the club has agreed to let him go with great reluctance.

We always knew that we were fortunate, through Matty Hale, to have recruited such a highly respected figure as Andy and that we were vulnerable to an approach for him. It is no surprise to us that a League One club should want his services.

We wish Andy well in his new position and thank him for going about this the right way in informing the club and seeking our consent.

Interesting development, was surprised when he went to Weymouth as an assistant. I guess PT feels comfortable with him. What's gonna happen to JY and where will LLL get his c*ckney quotes from if he's leaving or left?

Ah, thanks

Interesting.

As Malcolm says, what does that mean for Yemsy?

Thanks for the information although it's puzzling. Don't get me wrong I'm sure Tillson will do a good job (welcome aboard) but it certainly seemed to me that 'Tisdale and Yemsy' complimented each other very well. Has he received a managerial offer himself perhaps?

There is a positive side, this confirms that PT will stay at least for now. I don't see him as the sort to bring a new assistant in and then leave him holding the baby. Tillson is a sound ex pro with good grounding in the lower reaches, I think he will do fine.

I must admit this comes as no great surprise.

I believe Yems will stay at Exeter. Perhaps as a scout or summat.

Was there friction between the two or is it just that Tisdale wanted a different man? He seems to have gone through assistant managers like there's no tomorrow (granted though most left of their own accord) so maybe he is still looking for his perfect assistant to work with.
