What bothers me are the professionally offended who look to find fault in everything they think should be viewed otherwise. There’s nothing wrong with objectification - men have fancied women and women have fancied men since the year dot. So what. Go and take your hand wringing somewhere else.Your invitation is cordially rejected. Turning a blind eye to objectification isn't a solution to the problem. If it bothers you that someone points out to you that objectifying another person might not be OK, perhaps you ought to ask yourself why that bothers you and whether your behaviour really is as OK as you thought it was when everyone was just joining in.
