With Michael Appleton off to manage Bristol City the Wheeler is more likely to end up at Ashton Gate.
Want to have a wager that Appleton does not go to Bristol City?

And, for that matter, Roofe will still be an Oxford player by the end of Jan?

No. I don't think he'll go either. Mind you, not many people thought Appleton would do well at Oxford.

I would have thought Appleton has learnt his lesson about switching clubs.

Still don't think he's a particularly good manager. Just happens to have a well-financed squad that is probably of League One standard.

All seems to have gone quiet on the Moore-Taylor front.

But your local press seems to think we are in for Wheeler too.

What do you lads make of him?

Oxy without wanting to **** on yer chips there's little chance either player will end up at your club. Wheeler you would clearly be interested in but unless you are offering silly money I would wager Wheeler will go to a bigger club due to being available on a free. With his pace, strength and aerial power there will be no shortage of clubs wanting to sign him. I can't see Oxford no disrespect heading the queue? Moore Taylor being under 24 would cost any club a hefty fee and again I don't see a League Two club being in that market!!

Silly money on wages is what Oxford specialise in.

We'll fast become Oxford's feeder club at this rate. If he wants off get rid and get someone in who wants to play for us as soon as possible but get as much out of the deal we can.

So what we have here is Sercs doing well at Oxford, so they're assuming they will get another 50% out of any of the players they sign from us. It could have more legs than JMT, we've brought in Stockley, Hoskins is hopefully fit, and the club might let him go now to get a few quid if he won't sign a new contract. For a club looking for promotion, he's a good option off the bench.
