On hiatus.
Upstart Crow. Has the makings of a rather excellent comedy.

I caught the end bit of Paul Merton's Secret Stations.

I was amazed that there are stations like Denton near Manchester that only have 1 train a week.

Lucy Worsley: Mozart's London Odyssey.

Leopold, Wolfgang's father, brought his young family to London to hopefully earn lots of dosh. Things went well at first, even playing in concert before King George the 3rd. However, things began to slide to the extent that the whole family eventually had to play in taverns to earn their fare back to Austria. During their stay, Leopold fell in ill, thus giving time for the 8 year old genius to write his first three movement symphony. During the programme we were lucky enough to hear extracts played on period instruments.

I recently watched Part 1 of 'Tankies', the wartime story of the 5th Royal Tank Regiment (the filthy fifth). Tonight sees part 2 on BBC 4HD (channel 116) at 8.00pm.

Mark Urban the programme's presenter, and himself a former tank commander, wrote in his biography on the 5th, that a lowly sergeant by the name of Emmet Hall was responsible for getting the CO, a Lt Colonel and his adjutant kicked out of the regiment. I'm curious to see if it gets a mention.
