also I saw some footage of our 3-0 win v aldershot the game after we were promoted in 1977, and after each goal loads of kids ran onto the pitch so it’s not a new thing.
That was a great day. God knows how many times we were on the pitch!

There was always going to be a pitch invasion and I'm glad there was, as I was glad to see a couple of very harmless flares that really added to the atmosphere for me. This is a rare occasion for City fans, let them celebrate how they want as long as it doesn't turn nasty, which it was never going to. I'm 60 and was on the pitch, I knew before the game I'd end up on the pitch if we won, it used to be an expected thing when a team achieved something.
Yes I'd have cheered from the stand if the players had done a lap of honour but it wouldn't have been the same as being there with them, all in it together, our club our players our pitch. Please don't let football become more of a sanitised, middle class, procession of mild mannered voyeurs, let us have our moment of unbridled joy. It was 1977 last time I experienced this, please let me have a moment to relive that time and that excitement, I don't get many opportunities these days!

My buay was straight on there at the final whistle with the rest of 'em, & good on 'n, as others have said, these moments are rare, & consequently are very special. He hasn't shown me all his vids yet, but from what I've seen of them thus far, & from what he said, he had a cracking time - he was proper buzzing, like many others. After a while watching from the Big Bank, my companion encouraged me to go on down & join 'n & most of the rest of the crowd, & I'm bleddy glad I did so. Once I eventually found the buay, we got a lovely photo of ourselves on the centre spot with the BB❤ in the background. ☺ It was certainly a better time the numbed ambling around that I recall myself doing on there the following the dreaded Southend game 😏

Well done all you over 60's that can get over the barriers - on occasions like this stewards should just open gates and escort us through !

If you'd actually seen me climbing over, you'd have witnessed ambition and ability really struggling to get along. 🤣 it wasn't my finest moment!

I love this photo of that day, the bank infront of the Cowshed packed near the end of the game.

After promotion was clinched against Southend, the players came out in the directors box after being chaired off. Shaun Taylor leading the chants of ‘We hate Argyle’ 🤣

Gosh , that seems a long time ago, but then ‘Thanks Banks…..’ really is a life time with another twenty years on top , and I remember that well too , to my bodily cost! All our yesterdays…..
Let’s hope we don’t wait so long for our promotion to the Championship , back to backs like we did last time would be nice.

On the way onto the pitch from the Bank I got over those hoardings in true Olympic hurdler stylee. Tried the same on the way back and stacked it completely resulting in a massive bruise and a series of cuts on my leg. Was totally worth it! :)

The Reds have gone up! Massive congratulations and thanks to Taylor, the whole squad and everyone who works so hard behind the scenes.
I know you are an employment lawyer PS but do you know if a pitch incursion is an offence of some sort ? Criminal or otherwise. At cricket a pitch incursion risks a £1,000 fine or it may be a penalty.

Just interested as I found criminal law overwhelmingly boring when I had to study it.

I guess it depends on whether celebrating promotion constitutes 'a lawful excuse'. ;-)

I'll be using Egg's argument! :)
