Indeed mate..The slash of interest rates in 2008 spelt the end of a decent return.This has been the case for more than a decade.
The same problem now as then,once they are that low it’s impossible to raise them by much again because lots of people will be too much ‘in hock’ by borrowing cheap money.
There should be a fair even balance for savers,because without them banks would not exist.
