Kevin Francis and Brett Angel were two formidable strikers I remember from Stockport in the 90's. Stockport should IMO be a league club and I hope they get back there soon. Ideally replacing the likes of Salford.
Kevin Francis played 7 games for City in 2000, scoring one goal (against the Gimps).

If I remember correctly, he came after a spell out injured or out of contract on a short term deal. He wasn't great but we got him fit before Blakey lost patience and let him go. He then signed for Hull in our division and scored a few for them in the rest of the season 🙄. He did rather drift away after that though.

Barrow: The Long Road Back. A good read, had forgotten that Vaughan had been involved with them.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
York City will be moving out of Bootham Crescent at the end of March(seems a odd time !)

Seen the Grecians play there many times over the past 30 years, always enjoyable visiting, not the greatest for watching tbh & pretty basic in many areas but like many grounds that had not been updated it had a certain charm.

A visit to Bootham Crescent was always accompanied by a trip to the city centre nearby, various great pubs & of course the wonderful National Rail Museum.
Doable on the train from Exeter direct too(though cost a arm & leg before RaWZ educated me on ticket splitting 😁)

The new stadium,as is the norm nowadays is some way from the city centre,so a football awayday in York will never be the same again.☹

The urinals at the away end at Bootham made even the gents behind the old cowshed at SJP look like the facilities at the Ritz!

Certainly from a era when clubs did not care too much about facilities for spectators.

The CCTV was very good there though..On one particular game I was at the back having a swig from my hip flask(very discreetly) I had a tap on my shoulder from a steward telling me I had been spotted on CCTV & to refrain from warming my cockles with my elicit spirit 😁.
