This answer is 3 or 4 ! Twice in successive seasons under Brian Godfrey as manager and once under Tisdale. It becomes 4 if you take when we competed in the regionalised Division 3 (South) and consider finishing in the top 5 as the equivalent. In 1932/33 we finished 2nd in that Competition but unfortunately at that time only the top team of both the North and South Divisions were promoted to Division 2.Does anyone Know how many times in history we have finished in the top 10 in the third tier of English Football
Thanks for that. Not many times then! This answer is 3 or 4 ! Twice in successive seasons under Brian Godfrey as manager and once under Tisdale. Puts things into context really. Its only the last ten to twelve years that we have progressed from our ‘normal’ bottom half of L2 berth. I am still firmly of the belief that we can become a settled mid table league one team. The aspiration must be to continue to progress but it wont happen quickly if history tells us anythingfrom http://www.probs4.club/teamsProgress

top ten, three times, top half four times (since 1958/9 start of div 3 &4)
Interesting... Worth noting that the season's not over yes and Cox, Diabate, Harper and Rankine are playing a lot, so may well end up up there (though you could say that Trevitt and Hartridge are more likely to drop out). I think we should also differentiate our own players from loan players when we're thinking about younger players... The advantage of young guys playing is they progress and do better for us and can then also make us money.Obviously we are only halfway through the season but a difference in the amount of minutes played by younger players (top left quadrants). No change in the players 25+ getting the most minutes though (4) - long term injuries to Niskanen and Mitchell keeping thier minutes down.
