I watched bits of the match last night. Slow starts from both teams, not exactly explosive stuff.

How many dropped catches last night! The "lights" look very dodgy, what a way to lose $100,000!

Apparently both Middx and England stayed behind after the match the other night to practice their catching as they found it impossible under the lights.

Day/Night Cricket is great in theory but bad in practice if you ask me.

Wouldnt be a problem with better lights though - baseball copes fine but then again there isnt quite the money in cricket for lights like that, Allen Stanford or no Allen Stanford, so its carrots all round instead.

Baseball is a doddle compared to Cricket, though. Fielding is extremely straightforward, a dummy could be a decent outfielder in Baseball.

I can already see Monty in a Braves jersey next season then.

Rubbish. I know you have a mitt, but you still have to catch or retrieve the ball and get it back to a base as quickly as possible. I bet it taks some doing to throw that flat, that fast and that accurately.

The throwing, yes, but the catching part is a doddle compared to Cricket.

When I played a bit (mainly Softball but a little Baseball) my compadres couldn't believe I didn't want to use a mitt when fielding.
