Nice to see Wout Poels getting the stage win, after his sterling service with Team Sky in the past.

TV director almost forgot about him away on his own and just about caught him going over the finish line.

Not so clever today. Still, long way to go.

Aye. 5 shots off the leader so not out of it yet especially if the weather turns foul

Second successive Tour de France win for Jonas Vingegaard. Training time lost in the spring due to a broken wrist to Tadej Pogacar probably made the difference in the end…Yates brother’s finished third and fourth.

A shame in a way as it was looking like a classic dual with only 10 seconds separating the two of them but that missed preparation time done for Pogacar in the time trial and then the stage after. The good news is that this could be a dual that goes on for a few years.

A great finish for the Yates twins and a learning curve for Tom Pidcock no doubt. Potential is there to be a Grand Tour contender but he will have to commit to it or the one day classics/stage winner route.

The second rest day didn’t do Pogacar any favours either, up until then it was looking only matter of time before he’d be in yellow but it didn’t happen for him after that.

Unpopular route with some of the riders around Glasgow for the Mens World Championships road race…which made for some cracking racing won by Mathieu van der Poel for the Netherlands despite a fall less than 15km from the finish while leading.
