Although Sonny’s new contract is for two more seasons I think a very important factor is the third year option.
By then he could be really firing for us and (if necessary) we’ll still have some time left on it to increase our bargaining position.
Well done to all concerned for wrapping it up nice and early and well done for signing it Sonny.
He and his advisers know he’ll get plenty of first team opportunities with us and for now this is by far the best place for his continuing development.

I didn't feel he got the ovation he deserved as the crowd were too busy singing the Eisa song as Cox came off.

It's was a good all round performance from him today.It was easy to miss his first half performance .Made himself known to the Bolton defensive unit and they were complaining couple of times to the ref early in the match.If only Caldwell had told them to clear that ball faster and keep Cox,Harris and Aitch in a line more often.Covered a lot of ground and forced to do too much of that in the first half.That had an impact on him burning out on 77 minutes.

He has been at his most dangerous close to the 6 yard box,so running through a defence with only a keeper to beat shows more development in his progress to becoming a L1 standard striker.
